DOCTRINAL STATEMENT OF IMMANUEL BIBLE CHURCH OF THRE SPRINGS AREA

We Believe the Bible is the Inspired and Only Infallible and Authoritative Written Word of God.   II Tim. 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (KJV) II Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (KJV)

We Believe There is One God, Eternally Existent in Three Persons: God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit.  Luke 3:21-22  v21-Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, v22-And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. (KJV)  John 14:11 – Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake. (KJV)

We Believe in the Deity of Our Lord Jesus Christ.   John 14:11  Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. (KJV)

In His Virgin Birth.  Isaiah 7:14-Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (KJV)

In His Sinless Life.  II Cor. 5:21 – For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV)

In His Miracles. John 14:11 – Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.  (KJV)

In His Vicarious and Atoning Death.  Isaiah 53:1-12  v1-Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?  v2-For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.  v3-He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.  v4-Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  v5-But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised or our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. v6-All we like sheep have gone astray; and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.  v7-He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.  v8-He was taken from prison and from judgment: an who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.  v9-And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.  v10-Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:  when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his land.  v11-He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied:  by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.  v12-Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.  (KJV)

In His Bodily Resurrection.  I Cor. 15: 3-8  v3-For I have delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  v4-And that he was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures: v.5-And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: v.6-After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep: v7-After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.  v8-And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. (KJV)

In His Ascension to the Right Hand of Power.  His Pre-tribulational Coming for the Church and His One-thousand Year Reign Upon this Earth.  Acts 1:9-11   v9-And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.  V10-And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven, as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; v11-Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing ye up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. (KJV) I Thess. 4:13-18. v13-But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  v14-For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  v15-For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  v16-For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voce of an archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  v17-Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  v18-Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (KJV) Rev. 20:1-6  v1-And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.  v2-And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, v3-And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till one thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.  v4-And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw that souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.  v5-But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.  This is the first resurrection.  v6-Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:  on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. (KJV)

We Believe that Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is Absolutely Essential for Personal Salvation.  John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (KJV)

We Believe that Each Saved Person is Baptized in the Holy Spirit the Moment They Repent of Sin and Trust Christ Personal Savior and Lord.  I Cor. 12:12-13  v12-For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.  v13-For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.  (KJV) Rom.8:9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.  Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  (KJV)

We Believe that Sanctification is Both Positional and Progressive.  Rom. 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (KJV)

We Believe in the Sanctifying Power of the Holy Spirit by Whose Indwelling the Christian is enabled to Live a Holy Life.  Gal. 2:20 I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  (KJV)

We Believe in the Resurrection of Both the Saved and the Lost, One to Everlasting Life, and the Other to Everlasting Damnation.  I Thess. 3:13-18   But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow no, even as others which have no hope.  v14-For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  v15-For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  v16-For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: v17-Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  v18-Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (KJV)  Rev. 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. v12-And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  v13-And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.  v14-And death and hell were cast in the lake of fire.  This is the second death.  v15-And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.  (KJV)

We Believe the church is Made up of all Who Have Accepted Jesus Christ as Their Personal Lord and Savior and this is the Only Biblical Requirement for Church Membership.  Eph. 2:8-9  v8-For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: v9-Not of works, lest any man should boast.  (KJV)

We Believe the Church is the Prescribed Biblical Order for Corporate Worship by God’s People.  Heb. 10:25  Not forsaking the assembling of yourselves, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much more as ye see the day approaching.  (KJV)

We Believe that the Church is Victorious Through Christ.  Matt. 16:18  And I say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  (KJV) Rom. 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  (KJV)

We Believe that Man is a Free Moral Agent with the God Given Right to Make Choices for Himself.  Joshua 24:15  And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:  but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.  (KJV)  John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (KJV)

We Believe that Each Individual Will Give an Account for the Choices They Make.  Rom. 14:12 So then every one of us shall give an account of himself to God.  (KJV)

We Believe that all Men are Separated From God by Their Sin Nature Received from Adam.  Rom. 5:12 Wherefore as by one man, sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:  (KJV)

We Believe that When a Person Receives Christ as Personal Savior and Lord He Becomes a New Creature with a New Nature.  II Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  (KJV)

We Believe that Man is Justified by Faith in Jesus Christ Alone.  Rom. 3:24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  (KJV)

As Such Baptism is Reserved Only for Those Who have Accepted Christ as Personal Savior and Lord.  Acts 8:36-38   v36-And as they went on their way, they came unto a certian water: and the eunuch said, see, here is water; what doth it hinder me to be baptized?  v37-And Philip said, if thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.  And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  v38-And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.  (KJV

We Believe in the Security of the Believer.  John 3:36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.  (KJV)  Phil.2:6   Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:  (KJV)   II Tim.1:12   For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed:  for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.  (KJV)
